PROMO-X Knockout Trophy Competition

September 11, 2016 Headline

Otago Cricket Association Invites all clubs within the region to submit an entry in the Regional Club Knockout Competition in which the winner will represent Otago Southland regions at the National Club Champs at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season in Auckland.

As part of the first round draw, two random teams will win a $200.00 (incl GST) credit at Promo-X for apparel, embroidery or screen printing services.

Promo-X Ltd (www.promo-x.co.nz) will provide the winning team with $600.00 (Inc GST) worth of apparel, embroidery and Screen Printing services.

Otago Cricket will contribute $1500 plus GST to the winning team to assist in the payment of entry fee to National Club Championships

Each Club may enter one team. Schools that reached Regional Gillette Cup Semi-finals are also invited to enter.
Draws will be randomly made, first team drawn to host matches. Each round the draw will be made by Otago Cricket’s CEO.

Matches to take place preferably on grass pitches or alternatively a top quality artificial pitch. A suitable outfield is a must.

Matches will take place on Sundays. Playing Dates:
6 Nov, 13 Nov, 11 Dec, and 5 Feb 17.

Players are only eligible to play for one team in this competition; players must be a financial member of that club.

As this is a knockout tournament, the draw system will be designed once entries have been confirmed. It may mean that a number of teams have a bye in the first round. Teams drawn will be completely random. (But all teams will be in draw to win the Promo-X credits)

Best effort will be made to have official Umpires appointed for each match.

Playing conditions are that of the Domestic Mens One-Day Competition, and will be circulated at the time of round 1 draw being complete

If any match is tied, a bowl off will be used to decide a winner

If the match can not be played on the scheduled day it is to be re-scheduled once before the next scheduled round. If a match cannot take place before the next scheduled round a coin toss will decide winner.

Reserve Days:
o Round 1: 13 Nov
o Round 2: 20 Nov (if round 1 delayed 27 Nov)
o Round 3: 18 Dec
o Round 4: 6 Feb (Waitangi Day)
